We went to Clocktown Brewing Company to order some takeout and have a few beers with my family. I was told that if I wanted to order take out and have a few beers that we weren't allowed to sit at any of the tables. We were told that we would have to stand in the corner of the establishment and drink our beers standing up while we wait for our takeout.

Completely shocked by this response, we decided to leave. Very disappointed and won't be returning.

Stopped on our way back from a trip up to NY for a dinner and a beer (or two). Located in Thomaston in an old clock manufacturing building, it's a pretty large space with a tented outdoor area. It has a great bar overlooking all the "guts" of the place - shiny looking well organized beer making equipment. There are tables for a sit down meal as well. We sat down and ordered a pretzel and a dinner along with two beers each, their Doppelbock, and their Fresh Harvest Ale. Everything was very good, the food was on the larger side for portions and we ended up with another meal for the next day which adds to the value.
The beer styles were surprisingly diverse, and the ones we tried were very good. The Doppelbock was a really nice surprise and was well done. The vibe was crowded, a bit noisy, but the service was excellent, they have that place running very well. And also, we went on the first warm sunny Friday evening of the year. Food was good, overall, a great spot, we will be back for sure.

The joint was jumpin' for trivia night. Located around back of the massive factory building with the clocktower, there is large patio area at the entrance and a larger taproom with long straight bar across the back wall. 10 beers on tap, I had the Second Hand, which was solid. Unlike the majority of the breweries I go to, this one has a full bar and the bartenders were slammed. I also had the wings which were tasty, but on the pricey side.

Went on the first Saturday afternoon when Connecticut "reopened" (mostly) from Covid rules. Even though my mother is from Thomaston and I knew the large factory building where they are located well, finding the actual brewery in the building was not super easy. However once you lock on to their little logo arrow signs it was easy.
First impression- Wow the parking lot has like 200 cars WTF???, is this a new micro-brewery or what is it?
Walking past an almost full patio of about 100 people, the spacious and well appointed inside contained another 150. Place was hopp'n.
Service suffered a little, but I am willing to blame that on a new crew, a really large crowd and the pandemic reawakening.
I had 2 different IPAs, my wife had a lager. Both were pretty good, but not amazing.
We had a caramelized onion pizza from their brick oven. The flavor was fantastic, but I was not a fan of the crust (I have my own pizza oven and have become a self-admitted snob).
Overall, not a bad place. We don't get near that section of CT often, but will probably stop in again once things settle down.
BTW, While they do have a full brewery visible behind the bar, this is far from just a brewery. Its full service restaurant. They have a full service bar and a large food menu including desserts. Having said that and looking at the well rounded 11-beer menu, this may never have out outstanding beer (and I get the impression, now rotating or new beers). We will see. Basically, the place is very commercial, almost chain-like. Not that thats a bad thing if done right.
