Oh man, this one sounds interesting. Coffee in IPAs is already pretty uncommon, but throwing coconut on top of that? Unheard of. Origin has impressed me so far, so let’s see what this is like
Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
Man, this is a confusing beer to smell, I don’t really know what to make of it. I’m picking up on aromas of raw coconut, medium roast coffee, orange zest, toasted nuts, pale malt, grapefruit rind, and a touch of caramel
It’s equally strange in taste, and I actually find myself enjoying it still. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting crackery malt, tangerine, fruity coffee, grassy hops, and light coconut. The swallow brings notes of pale malt, raw coconut, earthy hops, medium roast coffee, orange zest, and light vanilla bean
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a silky beer with a bit of a bite. Finishes neutral and with a very strange balance
Straight up, this has to be one of the weirdest beers I’ve ever tried. It’s such an odd blend of flavors, but it’s somehow enjoyable
