It’s been a minute since I’ve stopped by Origin to pick up some beers. I checked their website last week and saw that 7 of the 8 beers they were offering were all new to me, so I figured I’d pick up one of each. Let’s start with the Pale Ale. Let’s get into it
Pours a hazy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
I don’t know when this was canned, but this seems super fresh in the nose. I’m picking up on aromas of orange juice, papaya, peppery hops, crackery malt, lemon zest, toasted grain, and pineapple juice
It doesn’t quite keep up the same vibrant freshness in taste, but I still dig it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange zest, crackery malt, grassy hops, white pepper, papaya, lemon zest, and light gooseberry. The swallow brings notes of orange zest, gooseberry, grassy hops, crackery malt, lemon zest, papaya, wildflower honey, and light white pepper
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth yet snappy beer. Finishes a tad sticky but doesn’t hurt the drinkability
A damn solid reintroduction to Origin. I can’t wait to drink through the rest of the stash
