Hazy dark copper color with fine bubbles in the foam; aroma of banana, clove and dark bread with a suggestion of dark chocolate; smooth wheat flavor with clove balanced with fresh dark bread; malty finish ends up with cocoa-like dryness.

Very nice Dunkel. Not as chewy as some others.

(SRM 17-19). Dark copper and more clear than hazy with bright highlights. The two-inch khaki head is a fine mousse that condenses to pancake batter. After about two minutes, only a thin veil remains.

The Kaputzner Weizen glass focuses strong, fresh wheat bread with sweet notes and light toasted malt. Light banana mixes in with warmth.

The flavor follows the nose, though less sweet and more bitter than expected. All is within the style expectations. The wheat bread flavor is quite nice, with banana/clove adding slight nuances. The finish has pronounced nut skins and never quite ends.

A medium body and combed wool texture starts to be more full than the initial perception. Light alcohol is as expected. Modest carbonation. This beer is surprisingly dry, which is welcome.

Dunkelweizen, when done well can sing. This example is a bit short of that yet is very enjoyable. Dark Treasure will work well with spring warmth and afternoon relaxation.
