This scotch ale is a dark, rich copper color with a fine light tan foam; the aroma is all about the malt; notes of dark cherries and plums; sweet toffee flavor with dark fruit tones and a dry finish.

On tap at Faircraft Brauhaus in Fairport, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells fairly dark fruity, with peat, and a sort of earthy bitterness.
This is a bit too fruity – plum, raisin, etc – for the style. I’d want a richer, breadier malt character, and less fruitiness. This also has slightly funky and earthy bitterness on the finish.
This is bigger bodied, and is a slow sipper for sure.
This wasn’t done quite the way I prefer this style.
