Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a brownish-ruby color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a tiny bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a mix of toasted malt as well as some caramel, molasses and brown sugar. Along with these smells, comes notes of cherry and raisin as well as a little bit of hay and earth.
Taste – The taste follows the nose very well. It starts with a toasted and roasted malt flavor mixed with a bit of cherry, caramel, and brown sugar. The sweeter tastes fade just a touch as the taste advances, all while the roastiness gets a bit more intense. All the while some grain, earth, and hay come to the tongue, mixing with the rest to leave a lightly toasted and rather approachable amber taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium to slightly thinner in creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the abv and style the feel makes it very easy drinker.
Overall – An alright amber overall. Rather approachable with a nice easy drinking flavor and feel.
