Groves Of Shade is a modern-ish West Coast IPA brewed with Pilsner malt for a very pale color and hopped with classic standbys Chinook, Strata, Nelson and Mosaic hot side and in the dry hop. Groves has a smooth but present bitterness and great citrus/pine aromatics with just a hint of tropical fruit. A hybrid if you will, of the old school and the new, and an easy drinker to boot. Like crushing a cold one in a green grove of shade, man.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Clear, pale gold colored body. One finger of white head, and this settles back to a thin cap and high ring. Leaves behind interrupted walls of lacing.
Aroma of orange citrus and pine bough.
Taste has a solid base of sweet malts, which support the hop flavors of orange, grapefruit, green melon, pine needles, and a bit of tropical pineapple. Flavors are bright and upfront. Aftertaste mellows considerably but still presents the range of flavors.
More than medium mouthfeel. Slight syrup with a dry finish. Medium pine bitterness which balances well with the sweetness of the malts. Good carbonation.
Described as a hybrid IPA. Softer feel, medium but crisp bitterness, and clear fruit flavors.
