I heard about this place when they made a bunch of noise at GABF winning in several categories. I had no idea where Atascadero was, then realized it was five miles south of Paso Robles where I had a trip already planned, and this spot was a few miles from my hotel to boot. With that, I set on an adventure to hit the spot up first thing in the AM to see what all the hype was about. This is right in a downtown area, a little bit off and around the back somewhere, but not too hard to find.
If you've been to Pizza Port before, this place has a very similar vibe. Low key pizza joint with video games type vibe. Think Round Table Pizza in the early 90's. There's even a mini bowling lane if you really want to embarrass yourself after a few brewskis. There's a large long bar upfront with all the taps, and a large dining area.
I ordered a few of their lagers. I had the helles and the bock, followed by a few IPAs. All beers were well crafted, no complaints on flavor or quality. The service was quick and attentive. The food was better than your standard pub fare, with some pretty creative spins on hot dogs of all things.
This place is worth a visit while in Paso Robles, and even worth going a bit out of your way for.
