On tap at the brewery, served in a plastic cup due to current covid requirements. Drank outside on the brewery's large outdoor area. Sign indicated this was a nitro pour stout.
Appearance: Very dark brown, approaching black, with a thin tan head. Didn't quite see as much of the classic nitro foam "cascade" right after pouring. Plenty of sheets of lacing noted as I drank it down.
Smell: A little bit of roasted malt, but not a lot of aroma otherwise.
Taste: Pretty much on target for a dry Irish stout, but a tiny bit sweeter. Roasted malt dominates, with some coffee notes and a little bit of milk chocolate mixed together at the finish.
Mouthfeel: Here's where I can tell it is a nitro stout with the creamier texture and a dry finish.
Overall / Drinkability: Again, very close to style. I almost view this as this brewery's attempt at a Guinness clone, or at least their take on the style viewing Guinness as the standard to compare to. Easily drinkable (I had two) and went well with food from the food truck. Well crafted - I'll have to see what else this brewery can produce when we're all allowed to spend more time at breweries.
