375mL bottle served in a snifter glass. Label says this is the Brewery's 3rd Anniversary Beer, so my guess is that it was brewed sometime last year, as I bought the 4th Anniversary brew at the same time. Popped the cap and there was no pop at all - so I wonder if the cap was a little loose.
Appearance: Black letting no light through. No head at all.
Smell: Surprisingly, not a lot of aroma - a bit of a rum aroma, but quite light. I suspect the aroma may have escaped out the cap.
Taste: Sweet, lots of cinnamon at the start and finish, some caramel malt sweetness in the middle, and a spicy cinnnamon finish. Maybe a tiny hint of underlying chocolate, and the barest amount of a rum note. Overly sweet - not balanced.
Mouthfeel: As expected - completely flat, but quite thick and creamy.
Overall / Drinkability: Unbalanced, and because it's flat, it's not quite right. I suspect this would have been a better beer when first bottled, but I really couldn't finish it because it was so sweet. Concept sounded good, but didn't work out in the end.
