16oz can from Bier Stein. Near black pour, adequate foamy beige head. Roasty aroma, burnt toast. Taste is roasty, bitter, a little bit dry. Solid schwarz

Pour is dark cola brown with a light fizzy head. Smell is roasty and sweet; caramel, dark bread, cola, and a hint of coffee. Taste is also very roasty, with upfront coffee and caramel followed by toast and hints of chocolate. Carbonation is very high, though the finish is only moderately dry. Overall, it’s like a porter met a lager… not too roasty, not too sweet, and plenty refreshing. The carbonation distracts from the body a bit, but it’s a small wrinkle in a good beer.
