Fortinos purchase for $3.95 CDN per can. Served cold into a glass. No freshness indicated.
Appearance - Pale golden color with a slight bit of haze. Small half finger of head that dissipates quick and leaves behind a soapy collar.
Smell - Clean and grainy with some crackery bits and the faint hint of grass. Simple but well done as is the case with the best pilsners.
Taste - Some doughy bits, crackery qualities and verging on buttery (bad) but doesn't get there. Fairly assertive bitterness to close and keep things in line,
Mouthfeel - Very soft carbonation almost lacking but the body is medium and the finish is fairly dry and a bit sharp.
Overall - Decent pilsner, better ones exist but a solid effort for a young brewery. Looking forward to trying more from these guys.
