Comes in a tall tapered neck green half liter bottle with a black and gold label featuring 2000 in big bold numbers. Not clear from the label what the significance of 2000 is. Ingredients include rice and sugar. Best before 7/19/04, I opened it on 6/6/04.
Pours clear deep gold under a one finger off white head that shows remarkable retention for the style, even mustering a bit of lace. The nose is pretty powerful, and I don't mean that it a nice way. Sugary sweet alcohol and metallic hops assault the sense of smell. The mouth is quite prickly and heavy with sweet syrup. The taste is harsh: syrupy prunish sweet and harsh as nails metallic bitter. The hops, mean as they are, show some character with a rousing finish and lingering aftertaste, but what's here is not very good, at all. There are better things to drink in my refrigerator, so I won't be finishing this one.
