My experience so far with Obolon hasn't been the best, though it's still better than some others like Opilia. The aroma from the can is very West Coast American style, so far so good. Described as "Elegant". There doesn't seem to be any dodgy ingredients, according to what is listed.
Cloudy, yellow appearance. Good head level, quite large bubbles as opposed to smooth. Tropical aromas of guava, pineapple and lychee.
Taste unfortunately has the strange very harsh tequila/fake alcohol taste that seems to basically be in all Obolon and Opilia beers. Other flavours include pineapple, citrus peel and lemon sherbert. Bitterness is very minimal, less than most German and Czech pilsners. Personally I wouldn't call this an IPA, though it does say it on the can, so it's how I'm describing it here ; ) And it's definitely more West Coast American tasting than English, with the tropical flavours. Very thin and fairly simple mouth feel.
Underwood make better Ukrainian beers, their double IPA is great.
