Pours a chill-hazed honey color with a thumb of cream-colored head. Below average head retention & lacing

S: Some apple juice, some paint thinner. Too sweet, to me this is what Prison Beer would smell like. Paint thinner goes away once warm

T: Basebooze heat, a little apple juice, some honey up front. Boozy apple juice & a little honey once warm, booze is present but less assertive, a bit of woody hops once warmed up. Finishes very sweet apples & honey with some booze, faint woody bitterness

MF: Medium body, a bit slick. restrained carbonation, skews sweet, not really surprise

Small sips only, becomes a little more drinkable once warmer. Not an experience worth repeating. If forced to drink again, super ice cold or infused with vodka. Pretty average for the style

PRO: Having tried as many Obolon as possible (including the Svetle cans on numerous times) I was intrigued by the existence of a 16 percenter. I have had the 12 percent lager numerous times. That one is plenty strong. This one must be one of the ultimate lagers of the world. REVIEW: Looks excellent, dark ruby red with bodacious frothy glistening head. Smell: Grassy floral hops malt forward with evidence of lager qualities. Tastes decent overall, excepting for a stale grape must palate, however the beer and lager qualities are evident unlike American counterparts (such as Earthquake or Edge). Feel: Exceptional for the ABV, there is a whisky-style burn going down, somewhat barleywine effect, although being a lager this beer has more carbonation. Overall it is wicked potent, I paid 3.99 for the pint bottle. As a side note: it does not feature a variety of nail polish remover or aceldeyhide tastes, but incredibly alcoholic and a slow sipper to be exact. (ManybeersofJG)

Golden honey-colored with minimal head upon pouring. Smells sweet and of alcohol. Taste is sweet, but not corn-syrup sweet, rather honey & boozy. The feel is where this beer shines. It feels thick on the tongue, almost coating. It also leaves a warming feeling, although this was to be expected with the abv. Overall, pretty good and much better than I expected. I was expecting a cheap malt liquor-like experience. But, this is a pleasant surprise.
