Wolf House Brewing

The service is excellent. I suppose it has typical brewpub food but for that it's excellent. The smoked chicken and smoked tri-tip sandwiches are delicious. There have been times when I thought the beer was outstanding and times I thought it was merely good. The beer is a little unusual, in a good way, and I'm not quite sure why. The yeast character is part of it but also the hop selection. I stood in line for Pliny the Younger one year, down in Santa Rosa, then came up here and tried Wolf House's Dire Wolf triple IPA. I liked Dire Wolf better. One Eye is an IPA modeled on New Albion's Eye of the Hawk. It's not on tap all that often but I loved it. Their dark lagers are also excellent. This is my favorite brewpub in Sonoma county. I like the location. We live about a 40 minute drive away but make the time to come up here now and then.
