Smoky - Bacon - Crisp
A new collaboration with two food heroes from Leeds. Our good friends and BBQ masters, Farsley Fire & Smoke, who sell their incredible wares outside our brewery every weekend, and the amazing Belgian & German Restaurant and Bar, Little Monk! With Oktoberfest on the horizon, we couldn’t resist using a small smoked malt addition to a crisp pilsner recipe. Not only is this a deliciously quaffable lager, but warming and a perfect accompaniment to feed. Prost!

440ml can.
L: Orange/amber with a light haze and one finger of head that collapses quickly to a cap with spotty lacing. A beautiful colour.
S: Wood smoke and BBQ.
T: Lovely malty base with some floral hops and a backdrop of thick-cut, smoked bacon.
F: Medium body, smooth mouthfeel and a dry-ish finish.
O: An approachable version of the style. The smoke is dialled back so it doesn’t dominate the base beer (which tastes more like a good English pale ale than the pilsner recipe apparently used). I’m still somewhat bemused by rauchbiers so, for someone like me, this is very good stuff.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
