As you have come to expect from AE, we pushed our comfort levels by doing our first-ever cereal mash in order to convert the starches from the Calasparra rice. But we didn't stop there…we sprinkled in saffron purchased at Mercat Central in Valencia, Spain on our inspirational trip. The intent wasn’t to overpower the beer with saffron, rather we were just looking for a hint of flavor/aroma, which you may pick on the nose or first sip.

Sampling this 12 oz can at fridge temp and poured into my pilsner glass. The beer was purchased at a local package store in Pennsylvania.
the beer pours a bright golden color with several streams of carbonation rising to the surface and feeding a fizzy bleached white head. this foam is roughly 1 cm and fades to a sturdy surface covering that remains throughout the sampling. Scattered lattice lines my glass after Ive taken a few sips.
Aroma is some grainy malt and a bit of husk note, I do get some bit of earthy note and some floral honey, which could be from the saffron that was added to the brew. No real hop character on the nose.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with very fine tingly carbonation and a smooth texture.
Flavor is grainy sweet malt and a bit of a honey note. But this does roll to some floral and earthy note. Maybe this is hops, or maybe this is the saffron? Either way my glass is empty very quickly during my sampling.
this is very easy drinking beer and it has some interesting flavor that isnt overly robust in any direction. Glad to have tried this one.
