Pours a clear, mahogany coloration with a medium, creamy head and visible carbonation. Smells of bready, slightly grainy and caramelly malt, dark fruits and herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of sweet, bready, caramel, slightly grainy malt, dark fruits: fig, plum, raisin, lighter red fruits: redcurrant and just a hint of herbal hops and estery spice: clove. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some bready/caramel malt, dark fruit and herbal hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Quite a nice Doppelbock with a good balance of sweet malts and bitter, herbal hops, as well as some dark/red fruit and estery spice adding some depth to this, with the clove actually standing out quite a bit.

Appearance: Medium-dark chestnut; cola colored; no head
Aroma: Sweet malt; sultanas;
Taste: Sweet, syrupy on start; slightly bitter from roasted grains; fairly thin for a doppelbock; not complex at all
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores
