ftb. light straw hazy color. Foam thick, stays long. Sweet smell typical to hefeweizen. The taste is very nice, sweet banana with some nuttiness, a bit astringent. Good acidity and balance. Finish is dry but then comes sweet aftertaste. Very good hefeweizen.

Familienbrauerei Jacob “WEISSBIER”
,5L brown glass bottle “Mindestens haltbar bis 01.04.23” and sampled on 29.11.22
4 € @ Johnny’s Off License, Campo de’ Fiori, Roma, IT
Look: Cloudy golden-orange body beneath two finger’s width of white foam. Good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweetish with wheaty malt and loaded with banana but also clove-like, slightly peppery, and subtly herbal.
Taste: The flavor follows the aroma to a T. Mildly bitter with a sweetish finish.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently zesty-then-smooth across the palate.
Overall: A little sweet but otherwise nicely done Bavarian hefeweizen.

From the just out of date bottle, it pours a hazy amber with a modest (for a wheat beer) head. Lots of banana in the nose. The mouth gets the same, with a very smooth mouthfeel.

Best before end 2/18/16.
Pours a murky light orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Tiny particles of sediment sink to the bottom of the glass after the pour. Smell is of wheat, yeast, spice, caramel, and dried banana aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, spice, and slight banana bread flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid aromas and flavors for the style.
Serving type: bottle.

This is a damn fine Hefeweizen, on par with the world's greatest. Drank it recently after the Weihenstephan, and this one fresh is hard to beat. Bravo.
