Sept. 2010: On tap at the Brauerei-Gasthof zur Post, Erding, as Fischer Helles. Crystal clear golden / yellow colour, moderate white head. High level of carbonation in the glass. Moderate aroma of light malts, a hint of grassy hops. The flavour is nice and refreshing, with more distinct hops than expected from an industrial helles, quite good actually.

12oz draft pour shows a crystal clear pale yellow body with active bubbles rising to a wispy cap of white foam, having receded from a 1/5in head.
Muted malt aroma leads to a flowery, yet not perfume-y, flavor that is bright, crisp, and clean.
Mouthfeel is appropriately light and crisp with a subtle hint of carbonation.
Overall a nice easy drinker for the summer.

Yields a crystal clear, golden color with a big, fluffy white head.
Smells of straw, sugared white bread dough and the faintest hoppiness.
Well dosed, lively carbonation with a light, very refreshing body to it, drinking perfectly pleasant throughout.
Tastes of hay, white bread malts with a bright toffee sweetness to them and a pleasant leaf dryness at the back end.
Awesomly build, utmost pleasant drinking and refreshing Helles, with just the right amount of herbal hops to add enough character to the taste, creating a perfect balance.

Drank from a Stein at Oktoberfest NI 2014
Appearance – Nice golden amber colour with a very tight foam head that lasted very well. In fact the head made it well over 5 minutes before dying down. There was a lot of spider lacing left in the glass.
Smell – Slightly sweet biscuit malt smell with a good dose of sour apple on top.
Taste – Mild sweet malts and a nice biscuit flavour on the front of the tongue. Low bitterness over all but there is great sourness in the middle that gives way to a sweeter finish. Really very nice flavour profile to this one!
Mouthfeel – Full feeling and very smooth with a great creamy element to the overall sensation.
Overall – This was hugely drinkable beer. I am growing to like this style more and more and this one was a very good example. It was fresh and tasty and clearly a great brew to have on a warm summer day.

On tap at Against the Grain, Dublin.
Straw gold, lots of trails of bubbles and a shaving cream cap of white foam. Cut hay and noble spice nose with a touch of tin.
Cream crackers and surprisingly floral hop finish.
Sweet bready comeback and tingly linger. Light, crisp, fizzy.
Here's the difference between Helles and Pils. Sweet over hops; noble is definitely on the leash for this one. Refreshing, but in an almost perfumed way.
