Model A Brewing Company

 

Store front brewpub on the south side of a small shopping plaza. Long straight bar opposite the entrance seats about 20 with another 20 tables about the room and more on the patio. A dozen beers on tap, growler fills. Friendly bartender. I did not try the food.

Mid sized concrete box of a place, upscale, casual feel, lots of couples, enjoying dinner when I visited, they offer a larger and quite pleasant out door dining/drinking area, that is covered with white materiel kinda sails, to protect you and your crew from the elements if necessary.

The offer a variety of tasty and nicely composed chow, I had the spicy chicken sandwich and it was quite worthy.

8 or 9 of their own beer creations available on tap as well as a full bar. I enjoyed a tasty Hazy IPA and a few tastes of things like the Belgian IPA, and Mexican lager, all were tasting quite good and well crafted.

Friendly bartender and professional service...well worth a visit...good place for a date or with a smaller group, not so much if you are with a group of guys wanting to watch the game

Located near the Walmart shopping center, in the same parking lot as Toppers Pizza, Model A is the first brewery in Tega Cay. The space is fairly large with overhead doors that open to a large patio area. When you first walk in you can see the brewing area off to the right and a long bar to the left. The place is sparsely decorated and like most small breweries has a more industrial feel.

The staff are all friendly and for the most part make sure you never have an empty glass. I have very little experience with the food, as the only thing I have had there was the pretzel (which was good).

I have been several times and have tried most of their beer offering, which range from mediocre to very good. Among my favorites have been the ESB and the Helles Bock.

Overall, I really like the place and will likely be back often.
