From the bottle, it pours a golden color with a modest off-white head. The head lapses to a robust ring and mountain. Primarily grain in the nose. Mouth gets the light bite of the carbonation and a nice malt flavor. Nice!

Served cold from 500ml flip-top bottle into Veltins pilsner mug.

L) Light golden, big fluffy white head that quickly disappears.

S) Not much, a bit of rubbery lager malt.

T) Biggish lager malt flavour, no hop bitterness. Fruity tones in there.

F) Smooth, not overly fizzy and no bitter aftertaste, very easy drinking.

O) Not the best German lager I have had, but its certainly very drinkable on a warm day, so give it a go if you are thirsty.

A: Pours pale golden, almost straw-colored. The white medium-tall head is kind of airy, nice lacings though.

S: Bready malt, semi-sweet, but rather faint. Bitter hops an citric notes.

T: Full bready malt, somewhat sweet. Bitter hops and very refreshing.

M: Body is medium, carbonation low and aftertaste rather long an bitter. Very smooth.

O: An above average Märzen.

Pours mid-sized, quickly dissipating airy white head atop of golden body with excellent clarity so the apperance is resembling that of a German Helles. The nose is rather simplistic with rich Vienna malt sweetness and noticeable toasted malt aroma. The flavor starts with malt-sweetness quickly followed by moderate hop-bitterness balancing the malt and lending clean, moderately dry finish with bitter, somewhat nutty aftertaste. Hop flavor is low with mild spicy-herbal undetones. Light-meium bodied with moderate, soft carbonation and excellent creamy texture.

Overall, a solid, light representative of the style, based on Vienna malt, with clean lager character.

from what i get after being in eastern europe in winter, post christmas is that festbier is a chirstmas winter seasonal lager. this is not retired. i had one that is dated in freshness til april of 2011. i don't know enough about the complex stylistic about the lager categories of german beer because they are quite regional and in the eyes of american interpretation as pedantic.

this was an exquisite german lager that is distinctly floral and pollen dynamic yet completely lean and crisp. i would place this as an export/dortmunder but that may be up for debate.

pour is nice, tight white bubbles over a golden clear body. nice gentle bubble flow. nose of apple crisp subtlies that is predominately floral. but the mild yet complex german craft is there. palate is mild sweet lager. honey floral that makes for a royal jelly quality. nice and crisp feel.

Clear, pale yellow colored beer with a few streams of bubbles rising gently through the middle. Faint aroma of spicy hops, a bit of sugar, and wet dog. The wet dog smell was really strong when I poured the beer, but faded to meld with the other aromas after a few minutes. Lightly sweet and grainy tasting pale malt along with a solid Helles-like hop bite make up the flavor. Moderately light body with a clean, almost watery, mouthfeel. Doesn't have the malty depth I was expecting in an Oktoberfest and the aroma, while it wasn't so bad halfway through, was very off putting in the beginning. It has it's flaws, and while you might get lucky with a better batch I can not recommend this beer.
