Tasted from a 16 oz can filled on demand at the brewery.
L - Dark gold or light copper color. Just a bit of haze. A moderate amount of off-white head fades quickly.
S - Strong hops aroma is a bit strange, the best I can describe is maybe melon and somewhat harsh herbal note. There is also a sweet candy note that might be either hops or malt.
T - The flavors reflect the same herbal and candy notes from the aroma. There's also a low metallic note in the finish. The flavors are not bad, just unusual. I can't categorize this as a West Coast or New England Imperial IPA and it's hard to describe in the terms we usually use for IPAs.
F - Medium body and low-ish carbonation. Strong hops bitterness has an almost tea-like sharpness. Obvious alcohol presence, but it is not overly hot.
O - There is nothing objectionable about this beer, but it is not great. The best comparison I can make is to say it is maybe similar to Stone Arrogant Bastard, but with the addition of some candy sweetness. It's not a conventional Imperial IPA in any common category, but it is drinkable and enjoyable.
