Dark brown, near black, with virtually no foam. Aroma of blueberry pie is quite distinct. Sweet, of course, but there is a fruity acidity of help balance the load. There's a dose of fruit liqueur and I think of Cherry Heering. The flavors are actually quite complementary to the dark, sweet melt. I mean really, really sweet. The nuts emerge in the aroma. It's really quite a concoction if you like this sort of thing. From the 500 ml bottle topped with purple wax. On sale at O'Shea Brewing so it's likely a couple years old.
