I'm likely jaded as this is walking distance from my house .....
The brewery itself is not overly large, and has a very nice patio and a garage dor that opens betweens the patio and bar in the summer. The theme of the brewery is LP records (hence revolution), they have a number of albums up on the wall. Their symbol is the inset that would go in a 45 record. They even have record buy and sell days. All their beers have a musical name behind them. As far as themes go it works well. They are dog friendly too. They are also in the middle of a middle class subdivision, and they do cater to that crowd. Quite often they have live music of local musicians and bands, although generally just run of the mill people doing it for fun.
The beer quality is good, but not great. They have a number of brews which are drinkable, and the few that are more adventurous as generally safe examples of the style. Their flagship IPA (Walking on Sunshine) for example, is quite a nice hazy IPA, but at 6 IBU is lacking a strong punch. Their Mexican lager is a nice beer, as is their APAs in general. They used to have an excellent choice of alternate brewers on rotating tap, but that seems to have been largely abandoned to choices from one other brewery which did not look inspiring enough for me to try. They also sell retail and seem to do a good business.
I always find the service top rate, only a very few times having to wait for service. The waiting staff is somewhat knowledgeable in their craft, but not really exceptional.
They do serve mixed drinks, wines and ciders as well as beer, although that seems rare. As noted the beer selection is their own, which is around 8-12 at any one time. They do have a variety of styles which is nice, but if I wanted to sample IPAs, I may get 2, 3 perhaps if I was lucky with a guest tap.
The food is limited, but generally has been good, although a touch expensive. The kitchen is small, a side area of the bar, you can watch the one kitchen member at work. They are known for their lobster mac and cheese, although the last time I had it, the lobster was hardly to be found. Tacos are good, the kale burger is quite good.
The one great thing I can say is that every time I am going out with people and someone says where, if "Brew Revolution" comes up everyone is happy to go there. It seems there is something there for everyone. Even the women are quite happy to go, and in fact my rough guess is at least 50% of the clientele are women, maybe more. Its a place for everyone.
