Super fresh and bright hop-forward aroma, primarily citrus, with a dollop of tropical fruit and a nice bright green herbal edge.
Despite the brightness, brings an adequate amount of malty sweetness to the palate. Very herbal and quite dank, but also very bright. Fruity notes are a bit difficult to pick out, but I notice papaya, pineapple, white grape, mango, lemon, and orange.
This is a really nice NE-style IIPA. It's not ground-breaking, but it's well executed.

Purchased directly from brewery (canned, in cooled) on 2/23. Label identifies this beer as a "New Zealand Double India Pale Ale." According to the in-house menu: "Koru is brewed with Riwaka and Moutere giving this beer a distinctly New Zealand flavor from the hops. Notes of melon, grape must, and papaya all come through, with just a touch of sweetness to balance it all out."
L: Amazingly bright, golden yellow/maize color. Opaque, with a milkshake-like appearance. Tight 1/4" head fades to residual lacing.
S: Tons of juicy, dank hops. Definitely melon and papaya, as advertised, with a decent dose of sweetness on the nose.
T: Picks up where the smell left off; some mango, papaya, but a bit of spicy/zesty dry/hoppiness and maybe some booziness on the tongue, too.
F: Booziness stuck around between sips which makes this slightly less sessionable, which is fine given the ABV. Nicely carbonated; easy to put down.
O: I had reservations that this would be "just another" NE/milkshake IPA but was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to the rest of the four-pack.
