Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a dense brown color and a dark brown head- medium sized with good retention and some lacing on the glass. A good-looking beer!!!! Aroma and taste include some coffee and chocolate and included vanilla and maple syrup as stated on the can. All backed up with lactose. Good flavors for the most part and somewhat sweet. My only complaint is that the maple syrup provides a mild aftertaste that is a bit off-putting. I don't think the mix of lactose, vanilla and maple syrup blends together that well. The odd flavor component is subdued but I think this beer would have been even better with less or no maple syrup. Mouthfeel was rich and smooth because of the lactose. This beer was somewhat swee but not cloying - nicely done.
