Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 11/29/23.
Appearance: murky pale-yellow hue with a thick finger of pillowy ivory foam atop which leaves a very good lace on the glass.
Smell: a fair bit of sweetness with a hint of juicy dankness and a nice Orange Julius-ey orange/grapefruit kinda aroma. Perhaps a little low in volume, but otherwise good.
Taste: on the sweeter side, though that’s not to be unexpected in an 8.3% DIPA. The sweet and creamy orange and slightly tropical flavors are there, although they’re not super juicy and don’t quite pop. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good beer. But it could pop more, you know?
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a rather smooth and satisfying creaminess, especially for the style. Great!
Overall: a totally solid beer. I think it’s not quite as great as it could be (maybe a month ago it was that great?), but overall, I’d definitely drink this again.
