Did you know George Washington is credited with the first pumpkin beer Neither did we. This lager is mildly seasoned with traditional pumpkin pie spices. Pairs well with cooler weather, good friends, sports and campfires.

So the can I bought says "PUMPKIN" rather than "CALLOUS." Is it the same beer? It's a 7% pumpkin beer from Heart State. Could it be an experimental batch never meant for distribution that I stumbled upon while putting together a six pack of rando brew? Is this my superhero origin story? Do I now wield the POWER OF THE PUMPKIN??
Mild mannered Jackson Oliver Lantern wakes up one cool October morning with the worst hangover of his life. Unbeknownst to him, one of the many, many drinks he had the prior evening was BATCH P, the terrifying work of mad brewer Harlan Wort. Jackson has mere weeks before rots sets in to take down not just a single evil brewery, but also the sinister organization fermenting from the shadows - L.A.G.R.E.
Or, like, someone said "I really don't want to think of someone's nasty feet when I drink this beer. Can we call it something else?"
Anyway, it's pretty good. Sweet. Kind of syrupy. Like a Hallmark movie.

I like this one a good bit, the lager base is a refreshing change and gives a much lighter easy drinking feel even though the beer is still 7%. The adjuncts are present but not overbearing, vanilla might have been unnecessary, I don't pick up on that much. Will have this again

Canned on 9/2/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours a hazy auburn; small light khaki head that fades quickly leaving little to no lacing and retention. Nice color though.
The aromas have a subtle blend of caramel and spices. Malts are there.
The flavors follow the nose. Lots of caramel. More spices. Some cinnamon, ginger and allspice. Subtle bitterness to go with a subtle sweetness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol goes unnoticed.
Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp, spritzy and smooth.
This is a pretty solid pumpkin beer. It doesn't exactly drink like your typical lager, but it's enjoyable stuff regardless. Perfect balance with the spices. They're bold without dominating or being aggressive. I like it.

Hazy gold/ bronze color with thin foam that quickly faded. No lacing in pint glass.
Aroma was pleasant, pumpkin leaning. Taste got better balanced as it warmed. Sweet initial taste with spicy tainted aftertaste that lingered. Kinda thin body. Overall enjoyable and good for a seasonal brew.
