12 ounce can, no dating I noticed on it but pretty sure it's from their recent release. Also just labeled as "Festbier" instead of "Herz". Served in a dimpled mug, the beer pours a clear light gold color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a little while. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bready malt, spicy hops and herbalness. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also a bit of floralness noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, certainly worth trying if you like Festbiers!

Single can from Jungle Jim's
Clear deep amber color with a thin head, fair retention.
Aroma has faint notes of caramel and toffee.
Taste is more pronounced than what the nose suggested. Nice sweet character.

This is not your everyday fall brew - this one is special. Heart State came up with a wonderful German-style brew with an appropriate German name, Herz, or heart.
It pours a golden reddish hue, lighter than the heavier Marzen style. The aroma is a bit of an interesting stench of German-ness (I say this as a first generation German-American whole speaks the language, etc.). The whole experience is wonderfully light but malty. Delicious.
Highly recommended. I need to find a little more.

Pretty decent German style beer. One of the best I've had by these folks
