Poured into my Lagunitas mason jar
Appears a slightly hazy sunburst orange with a finger of off white head. Inviting appearance.
Very piney and citrusy on the nose. Again, quite inviting!
Medium-light to medium mouthfeel. Just about spot on in the body department.
Grapefruit pith followed by dank piney-ness. A sticky bitterness pervades the aftertaste which persists until the next sip.
Overall a very nice beer which I was probably more than generous with, from a rating standpoint. It was solid and checked all the boxes for a West Coast IPA, but was just missing that special something that World Class IPAs have. If anything, I'd say that all the characteristics just needed MORE of what they had. More hops in the nose and on the palate.
Enjoyed with some wonderful Cajun jambalaya and etouffee.
