Copenhagen 24/7 2023. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Black can stating that this is a Plain Dark Beer.

Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is intense with a toasted odor of dark malts mingling with a more sugary and boozy scent. Caramel, toffee and brown sugar. Coffee liqueur. Bitter fumes of dark chocolate and a bit of licorice.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.

Everything but plain.

Can, as Newbarns Plain Dark Beer Strong Export Stout, kindly shared by Holmen2. ABV is 11.0%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Nice and straightforward roasty aroma and flavour, not too sweet, with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice, a fruity hint of prunes, decent bittering hops.
