Copenhagen 4/10 2022. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Black and gold can looking a bit like some slightly vulgar perfume for men.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sugary, sweet odor mingling with dark fruits. Plums and raisins soaked in dark alcohol. Brown sugar and sweet liqueur.

Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.

Flavor is intense with a light sweetness followed by a stronger coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a bit unforgiving. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.

Potent and surprisingly bitter despite a modest ABV.

440ml can with a rather 1970s looking black+gold design on it.
L- Dark mahogany brown. Head forms very swiftly, and is mid tan. ps holds up well.
S- On popping the can from a foot away I got a notably pungent 'waft of hipster'. Up close it has that sort of citrus-fruit blend aspect.
T- What a strange brew. It starts with the taste of a NEIPA with fruity-hop notes and then it's swiftly into a very roasty and somewhat smokey porter. I find it difficult to assign a Taste rating as it is sooo different.
F- Very hybrid, as above it combines hoppy-dry with roasty-smokey. It's medium bodied, I wouldn't guess it's 6% either it feels lighter.
O- The label refers to both black lager and lagered porter. You decide! It's certainly different. Interesting to try though I don't think I'd choose to buy it again. - I should note that this beer is probably aimed at a younger market than I occupy. Having seen some of the hipster beers ratings I can imagine this beer could be a dazzler to some others.
Bought from Bacchanalia, Mill Road, Cambridge £4.49. BB: 23/12/22
