I had this beer on-tap in a tall, narrow pint glass at the brewery in Edinburgh.
Appearance: golden yellow hue with a dash of haze and a huge effervescence — I wonder if the bottom of the glass has lasered nucleation sites? Head is a finger of creamy ivory foam.
Smell: moderately sweet with a very citrusy, earthy hop character. Reminds me of a WCIPA.
Taste: I don’t know if they call this a west coast IPA, but they should. A fair dose of earthy sweet malt character and a tasty grapefruit peel hoppiness, and there is bitterness aplenty here. This is … really solid.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it took a second for this one to grab me, but now I’m super into it. A great execution of a WCIPA.
