From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 09/12/21. Served in a willi becher.

Pours thin-appearing but dark, like a strong cup of coffee. Minimal head formation, likewise retention, leaves a barely rousable thin sheet of mocha lacing.

Aroma is awesome! Dark chocolate, copier paper and pipe tobacco.

Tastes good but doesn’t quite live up to the promise of the aroma - it’s thin and watery, taste-wise, right up front and it takes some patience for any flavors to develop. Toasted brown bread, golden syrup, and a savory, rosemary-like herbal note. Tangy rye obvious on toward the finish, and a vague cardboardy quality that wanders in and out of focus and which I’m refusing to pay any attention to.

Feel is smooth, medium-thin bodied but with a creamy character. A smidge under-carbonated to my preferences.

Overall, a competent porter, easy to drink, not super-memorable. Not sure where the ‘robust’ descriptor came from.

Poured from an undated can (purchased at the brewery) into the imperial pint glass
A - Dark cocoa color. Carbonation is well hidden in the depth of this. The mocha colored loose knit froth is quite lovely. Rings of lacing cling to to the glass during the experince.
S - A touch of char, certainly some cocoa, earthy element in there maybe from the hops maybe. A spicy element from the rye is quite welcome.
T - That rye bite is pitch erfect, not to dominant, classic porter elements are more prevelant, bitter cocoa, char, milk chocolate.
M - Great feel, medium is body, pleasantly dry, excellent tactile experience. Carbonation is near perfect.
O - A very good Porter, this will be a staple in the fridge. The dance between the tradional porter elements and the rye/wheat are a lot of fun. The feel again is superb
