From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 03/25/23. Served in a big-ass glass seidl.
Pours a rich honey-gold with a scant quarter-finger of soapy suds. The head fizzles down to nothing almost instantly leaving a narrow creamy collar and a rousable but thin and super-slippery sheet of sudsy lacing.
Nose is rich and bready. The aroma is so rich and malty there’s almost a bread pudding sort of character to it.
Taste is as advertised, rich and bready. Densely malt-forward to a fault but then I’m picking up all these side notes like lemon rind, tea leaves and anise, grass and apple peels. Aftertaste is tea with lemon.
Feel is medium-thick bodied, doughy, somewhat flabby. Fine, tingly carbonation with a dry, grassy finish.
OK, a festbier in March from an undated can and, in fact, there are some stale, flabby notes here however, if I were drinking this in November I probably wouldn’t give it a second thought. Still, the fuck’s up with not dating your cans?

The Brewery At Four Star Farms Festbier
The barrage of malt flavor's are really impressive. Light golden up to smooth and rich Vienna. Mt. Ranier hops taste tangy and slightly spicy with a green tea like finish. Soft honey soaked bread is definitely the highlight flavor in the big malt complexity.

Poured from a 16 oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery yesterday.
A - Deep golden straw color, excellent clarity, steady lager carbonation, meanders topside.
Nice white frothy cap, has some legs to it.
S - Cereal grain, cracker, some ever so slight citrus from the hops.
T - Start with that doughy delightful element, spread a bit of orange blossom honey in there and you have it.
M - Medium in body, dances across the palate, with a lively feel. then a delightful slightly bitter shift. the offering ends on a bit of a citrusy note thats quite welcome.
O - A very good offering from 4 Star wonderful malt expression, the use of Mt Rainier hops adds a hint of citrus, while keeping in the noble tradition.
