From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 03/25/23. Served in a tulip.
Pours an unhighlighted oak-black with two-plus fingers of plush beige head. Retention is pretty good with the head fading back to fizz within a couple of minutes and some dots of weak lacing.
Nose is rich and roasty. Aroma is reminiscent of Cocoa Puffs and there’s just a slight metallic tang.
Taste follows the nose, dry and cocoa powder-chocolatey up front, then with fruit. Taste is an oddly pleasant melange of Yoo-hoo and stewed prunes. Bitter, gritty, roasty cacao with a spicy rye twitch at the finish.
Feel is smooth and slick, medium-full bodied with fine, tingly carbonation. Lactose is evident in the mouthfeel; the 8.0% abv is not.
Overall, a most serviceable milk stout of the dry and roasty sort.

Poured from a 16 oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery on release week.
A - Deep , dark brown color conceals the interior. Initial pour is capped with a tight knit mocha froth.
During the experience the steady carbonation leaves ring after ring.
S - Cocoa, a hint of char, the slightest hint of black pepper from the rye maybe?
T - More silky cocoa, balanced out with a nice hop bite from the Magnum, nothing floral or citrusy, just a hint of pine and nice bittering.
M - Soft and smooth, a sweet stout that keps its sweet inside the rails. Again the hop bite and carbonation keep this well balanced
O - A very good stout, the use of lactose is gentle. Great texture and nice dry finish
