This beer was poured on 21 May 2021, the second day after the opening of Brewery Ardennes. It is clear, with a blush-red color (SRM 5-6) and a fine white head. Patchy lace clings to the pint glass.
The aroma opens with light citrus followed by dried fruit and hay. There is a medium sourness of dirty socks.
Sour cherry is obvious and opens bright with a pleasant tartness. Warmth adds a muddiness to the fruit flavors. The finish is long and earthy.
This is a light to medium bodied beer with alcohol about as expected. Fairly effervescent.
Brewery Ardennes is in a beautifully restored sheep barn that looks as if it would fit right into the landscape of its namesake. There is a large outdoor patio with trees adding dappled shade. My wife and I very much enjoyed the relaxed and open atmosphere of the rustic tap room.
