Milky amber with violet highlights. A creamy white head holds one inch for a minute before dissipating and leaving ample, spotty lace on an insulated pint glass.
The aroma is leathery with marsh brine followed by stone fruit. Late in the nose, one finds wet socks that hold for the next breath.
The flavor holds pomegranate amidst high acidity. A quick progression of sweet, tart, and sour follows. The middle possibly contains apricot or other soft orchard fruit. The finish is long with light flavor and strong acidity.
Alcohol is as expected in the medium body and nylon texture. Fine carbonation is ample and blossoms with each sip.
This is another example from Brewery Ardennes that was better from the crowler at home than from the sample glass at the brewery. This may be due to my palate after a heavy lunch. The brewery, by the way, is absolutely beautiful inside and out. A real class act worthy of its name!
