O'Casey's Oak aged Imperial Red
Pours a dark brown color with a white head. Opaque brew that you can't even try to see through. Free from sediment.
Aroma of oak, moss, bourbon, floral, dust. Sweet intriguing aroma of soggy barrel and sweet boozy notes.
The taste is malty, with peat, molasses, wood, bourbon, vanilla and alcohol esters. Sweet but also has a floral thing going on with the bourbon and the oak dries the beer out. Sugary, boozy but also drinking nice right now. Full bodied brew with medium carbonation.
To summarize, this is an interesting brew with the musty oak notes, sweetness, well integrated alcohol and overall big barrel flavor. My guess on the barrel used would be Jim Beam.
