Draught @ Headkeeper: This one poured a fairly opaque dark amber/coppery color. There was a thin off white head that left some lacing. It had a good aroma: some earthy hops, dark fruits, malts. The taste is very good. Malty, but almost no sweetness. Some earthy hops, fruits, biscuit, toffee. A touch of sourness, possibly that of tart cranberries. Nice.

Tap
Pours hazy amber brown. Head retains as lacing, light eggshell hue.
Smells of caramel, bready malt, and woody hops.
Tastes of bready malt, pecan, dry woody hops, and a hint of butterscotch. Dry hop finish.
Medium to full body with stinging carbonation.
Pretty good stronger ale with decent hop character. It tends towards a heavy brown ale. Nothing super special but above average.

Pours a reddish color with a short lived head. Aroma is malty with a hint of earthy, woodsy hops, a bit of fruit from the yeast or advertised Brett additions. The taste is malty, slightly nutty with citrus hops and earthy bitterness following. El dorado hops add a little lemon lime citrus at the end. Full bodied, malty feel. Overall, this is a drinkable amber ale but is lacking complexity and bolder hop flavor for the billing.

Served on cask at CBW. Could stand to be just a touch cooler, but no matter.
The amber ale character is great. Really solid on that aspect and it shines beautifully coming off cask. The Brett here however seems minimal with a slight fruit tone happening with a very, very mild funk showing. There is a good bit of a hoppy thing gong on in an amber kind of way. With Draai Laag being involved in this one, I'd hope for a significantly stronger punch on the wild side of things. Without having known there was brett in here beforehand, I would have thought this was a straight amber ale. As it stands it seems much more a CBW kinda beer.
