Had on-tap at the brewery in Pittsburgh, poured into a snifter.
L: Pours a cloudy mahogany color with a thick tannish head.
S: Complex, malty and herbal. Ginger and cloves with dark fruits.
T/F: Delicious beer, nice malt flavors to open with some zesty ginger notes (not unpleasant). Dark fruits... raisins and plus. Alcohol warmth at the finish. Nicely carbonated.
O: Probably the best beer I tried at Church Brew Works. Great flavor, excellent balance, and overall a great American take on a Belgian Strong Ale. Would have again any time.
