Draught: This was quite the interesting brew. It was served in a snifter. There was absolutely no head or carbonation at all to it. The color was a dark amber. The nose was quite full: it was a bit sweet, with hints of port wine, bourbon, alcohol, perhaps some fruits also. The taste was rich. Malty sweetness, hints of bourbon, fruits, and a bit of alcohol. I think that 6.7% is a low estimate. Silky taste, no evidence of the hops. Very Good!

Served in a 10 oz. snifter at the CBW. The color was amber, with a foamy white head. The smell was a citrus hop, with a bourbon-ish quality. The taste was a citrus hoppiness with a strong bourbon flavor with the malt sweetness still present, and just a bit of alcohol. Mouthfeel was nice and creamy. Drinkability-wise, unfortunately was a bit too cloying to have more than a couple.
Definitely a very unique beer, and one I just couldn't wrap around the first time I had it. A second one definitely helped. Very strongly influenced by the barrel aging, and though it was a bit cloying for sustained drinking (though Aran the brewer said there was some more in the pipeline that would mellow out much more), I will absolutely have this one again.

Appearance: Amber honey colored cream hued frothy head leaves behind nice patches of lacing. Aroma: Butterscotch some citrus hops touch of alcohol air of smokiness with bourbon aromatics. Taste: Smokey single malt whiskey like tones sweet backbone of malty goodness, nice complex flavor really hard to describe besides the fact that it's good. Utitlizes Marris Otter Pale malts and East Kent Golding hops therefore I'm calling it a English style pale ale. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied low carbonation due to the cask serving style. Drinkability: Very smooth and flavorful as all hell, just a bit too complex to enjoy in number a must try if your in the area though.
