Poured a medium to dark straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and little lacing.
The smell featured a soft malt and a trace of noble hop.
The taste was rather dull with an overdoighy malt and a nearly nonexistent hop.
The mouthfeel was overly soft and undercarbonated.
Overall a decent ale, just not a good kolsch. 4.6% ABV.

Had this on tap at the source with some friends the other night...they thought it was nerdy that I took notes about the beer.
Anyway, this is my favorite Brew Works offering I've thus far had. Between 5 of us we went through 2 pitchers of the Kolsch and one of their Pale Ale, but we all kind of wished we'd just gotten the Kolsch. :)
Pretty color, amber, a little orangey golden. Poured from the pitcher it left a 1" head that dissipated fairly quickly. Not a real standout appearance, but very much to style.
Great smell with notes of honey, grain, and a little bite of German hops at the back.
Tastes amazing, similar notes of honey, grain or nuttiness, and that same little sting of German hops at the finish that makes the beer substantial and not cloyingly sweet in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is good, slick, and very well carbonated.
Drinkability, absolutely a 5, I had 2 pints of this at the Church, and I just wanted more. Among the most sessionable beers I've ever had.

Served in a growler from CBW, served into a dimple pint. The color is amber, with a quickly dissipating head leading to a wisp of white head. The smell is a surprising bit of crystal malt with a very light touch of hops. The taste is relatively strong honey and crystal maltiness touched with a bit of a nice Tettnanger hopping to add a bit of oomph to the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is average. As for drinkability, with a 3.6% ABV and a remarkably nice flavor, this is one I'd have again (and again, and again, and again....), and as nice a sessioner as you can find.
Well, there's been plenty of debate on what makes a session beer, and this would be one that I would push forward as a candidate. Quite a nice little flavor beer, with a nice German maltiness and a good noble hop bite, along with not getting wasted while having a few of them. Hopefully, this will be one we can see again, and someday have a 2nd beer on the board with it!
