Pours a dark brown color with a nice foamy head. The aroma is full of malty caramel, brown sugar and toffee.
In the taste, nice malty notes of caramel and toast. Great balance with herbal hop flavor and a slight bitterness. Rich German ale character and this was a perfect pairing with pierogies.
Medium bodied ale with a medium level of carbonation. A bit light but not too thin or watery.
Overall, this is a solid rendition of an Altbier, reminds me of an ale version of Oktoberfest.

This beer was served to me from the tap in a Church Brew glass a dark amber color with small white head that left some spots of lace around the glass. The smell has a light aroma of malts and hops and the taste is somewhat lager like with caramel malt and a slight grassy hop bitterness also there maybe a touch of spice. This beer has a medium body feel and is very drinkable as a session brew.
