A- Medium Brown body with ruby, rose, and plum highlights. The color of this brew is simply beautiful. Pours with a thin 1/2 finger white head that eventually fades completely. Little to no lacing is left behind in the glass.
S- Light nose. Earthy cellar-like esters and spicy belgian yeast dominate with dark fruits and caramel malt in the background.
T- Spicy Belgian yeast and dark fruits like plum and grape upfront. Caramel malt and mild hops can be noted in the background. Finish is a balance of spicy ale yeast and caramel malt. A slight alcohol burn kicks in at the very end. Spicy yeast and caramel malt with a hint of earthy esters linger.
M- Medium carbonation and yeasty body. Goes down fairly easy.
D- The alcohol is quite noticable in this brew but that is characteristic of the style. Its a tasty brew with a decent mouthfeel and it was good enough for me to bring a growler home with me. I hope this is something that CBW decides to put on rotating release. Great experience for my first brew of this style.
