Brewed in honor of the G-20 summit, contains spices from 14 different countries.
Poured ontap into a flute, darkest of browns with no head.
Aroma of cardamon, all spice, cinnamon, and something I can best describe as juniper but I don't think that was actually used.
Peppery spiciness upfront brings a bit of heat. Dark malts lend chocolatey, bready sweetness. Porter/Stout like almost but lighter. That weird twang I described as juniper appears again, along with dark fruits like figs and raisin. Spice gradually builds but this beer is far from overspiced, which pleased me.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, lingering spices on the palate.
This is a unique beer brewed for a good event for the city of Pittsburgh. Interesting.
