Draught @ Brewpub. This one pours a dark, cloudy amber color. There was a small white head that dropped off quickly. It left a fair amount of lacing. Mainly a citrus and pine nose, yet subdued. Also subdued notes of caramel malts, dark fruits and breadiness. The taste is good. Very malty, yet some citrus and pine bitterness on top. Faint caramel malts, breadiness and a subdued sweetness. I'd call this more of a Belgian DIPA than anything else. Nice.

Church Brew Works Belgian Strong Ale, 9% ABV, 70 IBU
Pours a rich mahogony in color with an off white head. Froth dies down to a fine film. In the aroma, hops, belgian yeast and some booze. Upfront a nice piney hoppyness leaving some bitternesss and sappy resin. At times tastes like a barleywine with big fruityness and some booze. Belgian yeast fruityness lends some sweet banana and honey notes. Nice hop flavor all the way through (simcoe?). Full bodied with crisp carbonation. Overall a nice beer good and warming.
