On cask at the brewery.
Appearance: Dark brown, off white creamy head resembling the froth of a latte. Rings of lace document every sip.
Smell: Roasted malts, minerally.
Taste: Heavy on the dry, roasted malt profile. Dark coffee, mild hop bitterness also. A bit minerally, traces of gypsum? Finishes with a nice dry roast.
Mouthfeel: Super smooth, velvety brew with low carbonation, for a cask ale about right.
Overall: Quite prefer this to Guinness, a nice session stout in the Irish dry style. Easy to drink and went well with a pulled pork quesadilla.
